We are searching for a talented CTO for an exciting startup operating in the verification and compliance industry, focused on building technology that helps individuals in a digital-first world.

We are entering an exciting growth phase and are looking for a fractional CTO to lead the technical direction of the company and play a key role in shaping its future.

You will lead product development, establish scalable and secure systems, and build a strong engineering organization.

This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in startup environments and has experience building products in regulated or security-focused industries. This is a part-time position initially.

Responsibilities:

• Define and own the company’s technical vision and architecture

• Lead hands-on development while setting engineering best practices

• Build, manage, and mentor the engineering team

• Partner closely with leadership across product, compliance, and business functions

• Ensure high standards for security, reliability, and regulatory readiness

• Make strategic decisions around technology stack, infrastructure, and development processes

• Establish a strong engineering culture focused on quality, ownership, and speed

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Tech Lead, Head of Engineering, startup CTO or similar

• Strong background in backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and APIs

• Experience in identity, fintech, compliance, security, or other regulated industries

• Deep understanding of security, privacy, and compliance considerations

• Ability to balance hands-on execution with strategic leadership

• Startup mindset with strong ownership and decision-making skills
